First Capitol handled all of the paperwork

"...First Capitol identified significant coding errors presented in our 1095-C schedules. After performing their re-determination analysis with raw data, they were able to reduce our penalty to nothing.”

Our organization received Letter 226J in early of December 2017, just in time for the holidays. The proposed Employer Shared Responsibility Payment that our organization owed was in the millions. Unsure of how to respond to the penalty letter, we sought an expert on the subject; we arrived at First Capitol Consulting. Despite the hectic time of year, First Capitol was able to accommodate us quickly.

Upon review of our 2015 ACA information filings, First Capitol identified significant coding errors presented in our 1095-C schedules. They also noticed that the full-time count in our 1094-C transmittal was overstated. These two errors are essentially what caused the proposed penalty amount to be as high as it was. First Capitol let us know what the errors meant and how to avoid them going forward. After performing their redetermination analysis with raw data, they were able to reduce our penalty to nothing. It was truly something to celebrate.

Not only did First Capitol reduce our penalty assessment to zero, they also handled all of the paperwork. They provided the response to the IRS on time, attached the necessary supporting documents, and provided receipt to us once the process had been completed.

Long story short, we are happy to have chosen First Capitol as our 226J Letter consultant. They were professional, thorough, and detailed orientated. In the unfortunate situation we are presented with 226J in the future, we know who to contact.

Sincerely,

Michael Sanchez
